Infrastructuring public-sector AI. Within the IPA project, I analyze how Nordic welfare states orchestrate the development and scaling of AI across the public sector. A comparative article examines the national AI initiatives of Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland, and a book in preparation follows the Danish AI task force.
Projects
My current research centres on public-sector AI governance, alongside ongoing work on insurance and risk. Upcoming work includes a study of state orchestration of AI development in Denmark and methodological work on how to study that orchestration as infrastructure.
Current projects
Data use in insurance. Consultative expert work at the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA), where I am co-authoring a report on the ethical boundaries of data use in insurance and their implications for risk mutualization.
Insurance infrastructures of risk management. A side project focusing on how insurers manage the risk of severe-weather events such as floods and cloudbursts together with banks, mortgage institutions and public authorities, with a focus on the Danish housing market.
Past projects
Professionals, morals and markets. My PhD project at Copenhagen Business School on the uneven algorithmization of behavioral life insurance, with a research stay at SCANCOR, Stanford University. Completed 2025.
Ethical AI in insurance. A framework and dilemma-mapping tool for the ethical trade-offs of AI in life and non-life insurance, developed with J. Holm for Forsikring & Pension. Report (PDF). 2024.
